She includes all of her research in her books to ensure countless hours of entertainment and continues to take pride in knowing more about dirty history than most people feel comfortable with.

Why Lords Lose Their Hearts by Manda Collins

Why Lords Lose Their Hearts by Manda Collins.

This is book 3 in the Wicked Widows series.

Someone is out to do harm to Perdita, the widowed Duchess of Ormond. The person blames her for the Duke's death. Having already been through threatening situations with her sister and best friend, Perdita is not surprised when the villain sets his eyes on her. But when the threats start happening in public, she realizes that she must turn to someone for help.

The logical choice is Lord Archer Lisle.  Archer was the personal secretary of the former Duke and has been in love with her for years.  When Perdita refuses to leave London for her safety, Archer resorts to kidnapping her.

Archer just wants to keep Perdita safe, but can she overlook his high handness to find an everlasting love?

I would definitely read the other two books in the series before reading this one. Not that you have to. You will still enjoy this one but the story will be much more meaningful if you do.

Throughout the other two books, we know that Archer and Perdita have feelings for each other but neither of them have ever said anything to the other.  Part of what I liked about his book was all the needling that the secondary characters (H/H from other books) gave the two of them. Everyone knew how the two of them felt about each other, but they would just not tell each other.  I was happy to see the villain finally caught and was very surprised to find out who it was.

I'll definitely miss these three couples. There is a novella coming out to finish off the series, so I hope we get to see them again.

Rogue with a Brogue by Suzanne Enoch

Rogue with a Brogue by Suzanne Enoch.

This is book 2 in the Scandalous Highlanders series.

Grabbing the masked vixen, Arran MacLawry was only trying to get out of dancing with his sister's friend. Little did he know that he was dancing with the enemy.

Mary Campbell, knew that she was dancing with a MacLawry.  But when she figured out that he did know she was a Campbell, it was too good of a chance to dance on the wild side.  She had only heard bad things about the rival clan and wanted to see for herself what all the talk was.

Upon learning identity of the vixen he danced with, Arran sets out to confront her. Little did he know that even with knowing she was his enemy, the attraction he felt for her was still there. Even more surprising, was that it was mutual.
What will these two enemies do when they find that they just can't stay away from each other?

LOVED this story!! I've been a fan of Suzanne Enoch for many years and she did not disappoint with this new series. The whole MacLawry family has a distain for London (except for Rowena) and when she runs off the family follows.  When you have two Highland rogues in London, mayhem ensues.

Arran watched his brother fall in love with an English woman and can't believe that he did that to the family. So when he falls for someone in an enemy clan, he has to wonder if he was too hard on his brother.  I really liked Arran and Mary together.  I loved all their sneaking around to be together as it kept me wondering what they would do next. Each of them were willing to go against their clan just to see if there was something more than just a physical attraction between them. They were willing to over look the history of the clans, to find true love.

Rowena and Lachlan's story is next. I don't think I can wait until March 2015 to read it.  Ugh!

You can find this book at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Love's Justice by Joan Avery

Love's Justice by Joan Avery.

This is book 2 in the Worth Brothers series.

Victoria Wentworth is going to court to make sure her ex-fiancee won't get her money. Victoria's father signed a wedding contract without her knowledge. But after her father goes back to America and she meets her fiancee, Victoria knows there is no way she can marry the despicable man.

Hugh Worth, the Earl Montgomery and Lord Chancellor of the Exchequer, is the judge and jury for Victoria's case. Before the trial starts, he just imagines that Victoria is one of those American Heiresses just looking for a title, but he soon learns there is much more to her than he thinks.

What happens when they find themselves attracted to each other. Will it taint the outcome of Victoria's case?

I really liked Hugh and the fact that his attraction to Victoria knocked him so off kilter that he did things he normally wouldn't have done (kiss her after just being introduced).

I was a little turned off with all the spouting off that Victoria did in the courtroom and out in public. I just thought it was a bit too much. I've read several books lately that had heroines that would be considered suffragettes and I don't think it needed to be taken quite so far.

The story also had many secondary characters that I enjoyed reading about that definitely made it a worthwhile read.

You can find this book at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

The Whisky Laird's Bed by Donna MacMeans

The Whisky Laird's Bed by Donna MacMeans.

This is book 2 in the Rake Patrol series.

Claire Starke is off to Scotland to make sure that her fellow Rake Patroller is not sold off into white slavery! What she finds when she arrives is a laird that owns a whisky distillery, which is not that much better...

Cameron MacPherson is tired of his mother inviting English woman to his home is hopes of him finding a wife.  This latest group takes the cake as it includes a woman reformer spouting the ills of drinking.

What happens when this unlikely duo finds themselves attracted to each other?

I really enjoyed this story. We see a little bit of Claire in the first story in the series and know that she is a bit radical. She definitely makes an impression when she first arrives in Scotland.

Both Claire and Cameron have some healing of past hurts to get over and I think that allowed them to connect with each other on a different level than their attraction for each other did.

I loved that the author included photography in the book. As an avid photographer myself, it was neat to read about the early use of cameras.

I'm really excited to continue to read this series and hope the with each one we revisit each of the members of the Rake Patrol!

You can find this book at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Trapped at the Altar by Jane Feather

Trapped at the Altar by Jane Feather.

Ariadne "Ari" Carfax is not ready to go through with the betrothal made when she was but a child. She may love her betrothed, but she is in love with another man (Gabriel). After her grandfather's death, Ari's uncle is determined to see her married to Ivor Chalfont and ambushes her with the marriage ceremony at her grandfather's wake. There is nothing let for her to do but comply and take her vows.

Even though Ivor has known Ari since they were little children, he is not against the marriage between them. Ari claims that she could never love him the ways she loves Gabriel, but Ivor is determined to make their marriage work.

Going to London on a mission to reinstate the family at Court, Ivor hopes that Ari will get Gabriel out of her mind. What he doesn't know is that Gabriel is waiting in London to whisk Ari away.

Can the long trip to London convience Ari the Ivor is the right man for her?

I loved Ivor and I liked Ari. I kinda thought that Ivor was too good for Ari. He was willing to overlook her having had sex with someone else before their marriage which most men would not have done during that time. Ivor seemed to be making all the concessions where as Ari just didn't seem to want to grow up and take responsibility for her actions.

It took awhile for Ari to grow into her adulthood role and that is when my attitude toward her changed (almost at the end). I really wish that her change had come about sooner in the book.

The writing was good and I'll definitely pick up more from this author.

For Her Spy Only by Robyn DeHart

For Her Spy Only by Robyn DeHart.

This is book 2 in the Masquerading Mistresses series.

Winifred and her maid are stranded on the side of the road when Alistair, the Marquess of Coventry, comes to their rescue.  With no other options, they accepted the help and stay with Alistair until they can travel again.

Winifred finds herself attracted to Alistair and instead of fighting it, Winifred gives into it. Her betrothed had jilted her and started spreading rumors. Since she was paying for crimes that she didn't commit, why not actually do something to deserve the scorn.

Six years later finds Winifred a widow with a young son and Alistair knocking on her door.  He has come to look at her husband's maps and is surprised to find she is the widow of the man he came to see.

Their chemistry rekindles instantly, but Winifred must keep her distance to protect her son. What will Alistair do when he finds out the truth she has been hiding?

This was a pretty quick read, but I think DeHart did a good job of hooking me in with a satisfying story.  I liked that Winifred was not your typical society miss and took control of her life (feel an attraction, don't fight it!). Alistair was looking for the maps to decode a message for a spy mission. The added element of that made it a very enjoyable read.

DeHart does a wonderful job with novellas. She sucks me in and keeps me enthralled just like with a full length novel. I can't wait to see what she has coming up!

You can get this at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

The Suffragette Scandal by Courtney Milan

The Suffragette Scandal by Courtney Milan.

This is book 4 in the Brothers Sinister series.

Miss Frederica "Free" Marshall is in independent woman known for her support of women's rights. She has enemies that are determined to destroy her and her business, a thriving newspaper. She will do anything to save the newspaper, even trust a stranger to help her.

Edward Clark has his own reasons for wanting to help Free, but he hadn't counted on one of them being his attraction to her.  Getting revenge against his brother was top on Edward's list, but it soon takes second place to his attraction to Free.

But to vanquish their common enemy, Edward must reveal his past. Can Free forgive him after all is said and done?

I really didn't think I read a book that I liked more than Milan's The Countess Conspiracy, but this book comes pretty close. Free has been a part of the Brothers Sinister series and has always intrigued me. Milan did not disappoint.

I will say that I've not read many books with suffragettes as the main character, so I don't know how they are normally portrayed. I thought that Milan did a nice job of not overplaying the suffragette card. We see that side of Free, but it wasn't the only dimension se see of her.  She has taken charge of her life in a time when most women weren't allowed or didn't choose to do so.  The feisty ones are always some of my favorite heroines.

Edward was definitely not your typical hero.  He stated up front to Free that he couldn't be trusted, but boy did he worm his way into my heart!!  There was just something about him that draws you to him. He couldn't be all bad when he still had two very loyal friends.

I'm so sad that this series is coming to an end. There is an additional novella to end the series which will be out in August.

Letters at Christmas by Amber Lin

Letters at Christmas by Amber Lin.

This is book 1 in the Men of Fortune series which was previously published in A Very Scandalous Holiday Anthology.

Sidony Harbeck can't believe that Hale Martin is finally back. After waiting for him for three years, he expects her to say yes to his marriage proposal. How can Sidony say yes to a man that couldn't even write one letter to her the whole time he was gone?

Captain Hale Martin is back to claim Sidony for his wife. When she says no to his proposal, he reverts to their childhood games of placing bets with each other.
Can he convience her to marry him in three days or will he have to walk out of her life forever?

This was a very quick read.  The story was enjoyable but it didn't have the depth that some writers have with short stories.

Since this was the first book by this author that I have read, it gave me a taste of her writing style. I am intrigued enough to put the next book in the series on my to-read list. The next book in the series is Falling for the Pirate which comes out on July 21.

You can get this book at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Scandalous Summer Nights an Anthology

Scandalous Summer Nights by Grace Callaway, Sabrina Darby, Jennifer Haymore, Sue London, Kate McKinley, Sandy Raven and Vivienne Westlake.

This anthology includes seven series-opening novellas.

The Widow Vanishes by Grace Callaway

Annabel Foster has just found out that her husband has passed away and left her in debt to a man no one is willing to cross. After trying to earn the money respectfully, she is forced to sell her body. Her first night turns out unexpectedly.

William McLeod has been given his choice of women for the night in reward for a job well done. Little did he know that the woman he choice would change his life forever.

This was a nice quick read. This is an introduction to her new Heart of Enquiry series, but had a few characters from her Mayhem in Mayfair series too. The story has me hunting down the Mayhem in Mayfair series to read!

Scandal Before Sunrise by Sabrina Darby

Abigail Billings had been one of the wild girls before disappearing from the ton for three years. Now she is back and looking for a respectable husband before everyone learns that there is no longer any money with her father's title.  Unfortunately,  the man that interests her is not interested in marriage but wants an affair instead.

Elliot Jones has just returned from fighting for England and is ready to have some fun. His friends talk about bad girl Abigail and she has peaked his interests. But when he finally meets her, she is no longer that fun lovin' girl his friends talked about.

Can Elliot find that fun lovin' girl behind the woman that wants a respectable marriage?

A great story with a mischievous girl trying to do right. This novella definitely peaked my interest for reading the rest of the books in the Weekly Scandal series. I'm hoping the series includes Elliot's friends from this novella!

A Highlander's Heart by Jennifer Haymore

Claire Campbell is determined to fix her marriage, but to do that she must find her husband who is in the middle of fighting a war.  Finding her husband wounded on the battlefield at Waterloo, Claire is determined to see him regain his health.

Rob Campbell thinks it's an angel approaching him on the battlefield, but when she gets closer he realizes that it is his wife whom he is estranged.
Can these two mind their marriage in the middle of this horrible war?

Haymore does an excellent job of setting up her new series. We are introduced to the male leads and given enough of a back story on each to peak our interest.  Her new Highland Knights series is definitely on my TBR list!!

Lord Lucifer's Disciple by Sue London
Elisa Jarvis know that all her husband prospects are just after her dowry, plus they are all boring! That is until she meets a mysterious foreigner at a masked ball.
John Howards has always been awkward during social functions, so when he finally agrees to attend his cousin's masked ball he pretends to be his foreign friend. It gives him the courage to do things he would never dream of as himself.
What will Elisa do when she unmasks her foreign friend?
This was my first story by Sue London and I really enjoyed it.  So much so that I need to hunt down all her Haberdasher books to read the stories of all the secondary characters I meet in this one.

How to Lose a Duke in Ten Days by Kate McKinley

Pippa Welby can't imagine why the man that gave her the cut direct is asking her to marry him. He has even given her an invitation to her own engagement ball that is to happen in 10 days. Pippa has been looked down on by the peerage her whole life because of her heritage and there is no way she is going to marry into it.

Lucas Alexander, the Duke of Arlington, is smitten with Pippa the first time he sees her. So taken with her, he was at a loss for words and walks away from her. Finding out that her father owns the largest coal mine in the area is just the icing on the cake.

What happens when what starts out as a seduction of convience turns into true passion? Can Pippa forgive Lucas when she finds out why he really wants to marry her?

It was a very enjoyable read. It's often hard for authors to write novellas without the story feeling rushed. McKinley does an excellent job of keeping the pace of the story without leaving out any details. Lucas was definitely an alpha male, but also showed that he had a softer side to him. Pippa, as a headstrong young miss, was not going to let Lucas walk all over her. They were perfect for each other!
Miss Amelia Lands a Duke by Sandy Raven
Amelia Manners-Sutton is the companion for her aunt, whom is not very nice, but she took Amelia in when she didn't have any where else to go. Since her aunt doesn't want Amelia to ruin anything for her at the house party, Amelia is left to her own devices and finds herself wondering the gardens where she meets a man named "Sir." She is intrigued by him, but it is not until she is almost caught in the library with him that things get interesting.

Marcus Halden, the Duke of Caversham, is just looking for some peace and quiet when she encounters "Miss." He is also intrigued and when she is about to speak and alert her aunt to their presence in the library he kisses her.

What will happen when they are caught in a compromising position?

There was just something about this one that I didn't like. I think part of it is the age difference in the H/H. He was old enough to be her father and I just don't want to read about that in one of my romances.  The other was the editing of the piece, which I hope was fixed before publication....
Lady Northham's Wicked Surrender by Vivienne Westlake

Rowena, Countess of Northham, is in the home of her former suitor when she learns that he will be arriving soon.  She was jilted by the man and doesn't know how she will act when she sees him again.

Simon, Lord Rutherford, is on his way back to claim his former love.  She rejected him once, but he has hopes that she is ready to be his forever.

What happens when they learn what they thought happened, was all lies?

I really enjoyed this very short story and am looking forward to reading more by this author.

Over all I really enjoyed this set of stories and have found several new authors that I will be putting on my TBR list. I would definitely pick this one up for your keeper shelf!!

You can get this book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBooks, Kobo, and All Romance E-Books.

Thanks go out to Jennifer Haymore via NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange of a copy of the book.

A Matter of Sin by Jess Michaels

A Matter of Sin by Jess Michaels.

This is book on in the Ladies Book of Pleasures.

Lady Isabel Avenbury has one more sister to off into marital bliss and then she has decided to take a lover. Once she is no a "proper chaperone" for her single sister, she can find someone to fill her lonely nights.

Hopeful to find an advantageous match for her sister, Isabel joins the house party at Marquis Lyndham's home. But what happens when Isabel finds herself attracted to the host that she thought might be a match for her sister?

Seth Rowland, Marquis Lyndham, is not looking forward to the house party his mother is throwing to find him a bride. He can't abide all the empty headed misses that are paraded in front of him.  But what happens when one of the chaperones catches his eye?

Seth and Isabel decide to have a brief affair during the house party but when you throw a copy of the Ladies Book of Pleasures into the mix everything changes. What adventures lie ahead for the two of them?

Every time I start a new series by Michaels, I immediately want the rest of the books in my hands! She sucks me into the friendship/relationships of these characters and I want to read all their stories!

This story starts with three friends (Isabel, Grace and Jacinda) talking about the new book that has hit the town, Ladies Book of Pleasures.  Made brazen by their discussion, Isabel (a widow) announces that she is ready to have an affair but not until she sees her youngest sister married. She doesn't want to hurt her sister's prospects on the marriage mart. But once this decision is made, she becomes smitten with the first male she encounters. She doesn't know what to do. Luckily her friend, Grace is also at the house party so of course they have a heart to heart. I love the relationship between Isabel and Grace (we don't see much of Jacinda). Everyone should have a bestie like that!!

Seth and Isabel together just sizzled!! It is interesting to learn that they had each been attracted to the other before Isabel's marriage, but because of Seth's youth (no way would he have married that young) nothing every came of it. That slow simmer really exploded off the page when it finally ignited! I just loved how the two of them interacted with each other. Isabel was a bit shy at times but learned how to be a bit more aggressive in the relationship when her confidence grew. They both had to figure out if they were going to do what was best for their family or best for themselves...

I sat down to just start the book and I ended up not being able to put it down. I finished it in one setting!

You can get this book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Google Books and Samhain.

With this Ring by Celeste Bradley

With this Ring by Celeste Bradley.

This is book 3 in the Worthington series.

Elektra Worthington is determined to marry into money to save her family and their home.  At the top of her list is Lord Aaron Arbogast. He has just returned to England after being gone for 10 years (he won't know all her family's angst) and he is loaded. How convenient that he just happens to stop at an inn where Elektra is waiting for her cousin. What else is there to do but kidnap him to do her bidding.

Aaron Arbogast can't believe that he has been kidnapped! Since he is already in his valet's clothes, with his valet conveniently playing him at the inn, what else is there to do but notify Elektra that she has kidnapped the wrong man? But being the man that he is, he can not allow Elektra and her cousin to travel back to London on their own. Aaron must continue to play the part of his valet for a little bit longer.

What is a girl to do when she finds herself falling for an improper man? Does she follow her heart or marry to save the family fortunes?

As wacky as they are, I've really fallen in love with the Worthington family. Elektra is probably the least wacky of the bunch (other than her kidnapping a future Earl) and feels responsible for the family. She needs to marry well to be able to restore the family home. Aaron, being the outsider of the bunch, sees how much she is sacrificing her life to make her family's life better.

Aaron left England because he had disgraced his family (he took the blame for someone else) and is back to prove that he is a changed man. Even knowing that he needs to see his grandfather to secure his inheritance, Aaron still decides to escort the girls back to London.

Aaron and Elektra are perfect for each other. They will sacrifice their lives for those that they love.

I can't wait to read more stories about the Worthingtons!

You can get this book at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

The Wickedest Lord Alive by Christina Brooke

The Wickedest Lord Alive by Christina Brooke.
This is book 3 in the Westruthers series.

Eight years ago, the Marquis of Steyne had been forced to marry to pay off his mother's gambling debts. Once the marriage had been consummated, his new bride disappeared. Needing an heir, Steyne tracks down his wayward wife who is living a quiet life in a small village under an assumed name.

Lady Alexandra ran on her wedding night after witnessing a shocking scene in her home. She has been living quite happily under a new identity and is taken-aback when she is confronted by her husband asking her to provide him with the needed heir.

Acting as if she has no memory of her life before coming to Little Thurston, Lizzie (Alexandra's new name) acts like she has no idea what Steyne is talking about. When she realizes that he is not going to take her back to her father, she admits that the memory loss was a ruse.

Demanding the Lizzie takes her place as his wife, the couple soon find themselves fighting their mutual attraction to each other. Can what started out as an unwanted marriage turn into a once in a lifetime love?

Steyne has been a part of the previous stories in the series. He has been seen adding his sarcastic comments to his cousin's relationships when his input has been asked for. As his story unfolds, you see how the relationship with his mother has made him the man that we see but we also see the person that he hides from the rest of the world.

Lizzie is the perfect match for Steyne as they are both people who are trying to get out from under the life that their parents made for them.  Teh added mystery of who was trying to kill Steyne kept the story moving and added a nice twist to the story.

I can't wait for the next book in the series which I hope is about Lydgate!!

How to Lose a Lord in 10 Days or Less by Elizabeth Michels

How to Lose a Lord in 10 Days or Less by Elizabeth Michels.

This is book 3 in the Tricks of the Ton series.

Having lost the respect of the Ton, Andrew Clifton has been hiding out in Scotland until the scandal has blown over. Unfortunately, he gets a letter from his mother saying there is trouble on his estate. As Andrew makes his way home, he encounters two men that appear to be after him. Trying to get away from them, he jumps a hedge and literally throws himself at Katie Moore.

Always enjoying the horse farm to society life, Katie enjoys her life without mingling with the Ton.  Having been injured in an accident while riding her horse, she has shied away from having anything to do with them since the accident. But when it soon become apparent that Andrew's horse needs her tender care, she slowly makes her way back into her former life.
Having decided that marriage was not the life for her, Katie never imagined that a Lord would show up at her doorstep and intrigue her enough to consider changing her mind. Andrew is just as intrigued and does everything in his power to spend time with Katie.

What will happen when Andrew finds out that someone in Katie's family is the one causing so much trouble on his estate? Can their blossoming romance survive or will it die before it really has a chance to begin?

In the other stories in the series, Andrew is pretty much an @$$, so it was nice to see someone put him in his place and have him take notice and change. He was always looking for the perfect wife and he definitely didn't find it in Katie. But even with all of Katie's imperfections, Andrew can't seem to keep away from her.  They both decided that this "thing" between them would only last until Andrew's horse was well enough to travel, but would that be enough for either of them?

I really liked Katie and hated how her family had treated her since her mother ran off.  Her father definitely had some making up to do!!  I loved her independence but she still have a very vulnerable side which made me like her even more.

I really hope that Michels continues with this series as I would hate to not visit these characters again.

Bride of a Scottish Warrior by Adrienne Basso

Bride of a Scottish Warrior by Adrienne Basso.

Grace Alastair is a widow determined never to marry again. After her period of mourning, she plans to go back to the convent that she grew up at and dedicate her life to helping others.

Ewan Gilroy is in need of a wife with a large dowry. Unfortunately, being born a bastard has made all of the noble families turn down his marriage proposals that is until he gets to the home of a friend. Ewan is instantly attracted to Grace and will do just about anything to get her.

Feeling guilty about the death of her husband, Grace is determined never to marry again. It doesn't matter that she is attracted to Ewan, she can't marry him.  Thinking her brother is taking her back to the convent, Grace is surprised to find that Ewan is leading her escort.

Unbeknownst to Grace, Ewan is taking her back to the convent in hopes of changing her mind about the marriage. Will Ewan be able to convience Grace that marriage to him is better than life at the convent?

This story was an enjoyable read.  Grace was determined to never marry again even when she would like nothing more than to have her own family. She was a strong woman that held on to her convictions and it wasn't until someone other then herself was threatened, did she give in to Ewan's marriage proposal.  I also really liked Ewan strength of character. Even though he was a bastard, he made the best of his life. Through hard work, he was able to get an estate of his own. He didn't has that "woe is me" attitude because he wouldn't inherit anything from his father.

This was my first book by Basso and it definitely won't be my last!

Lady Windermere's Lover by Miranda Neville.

Lady Windermere's Lover by Miranda Neville.

This is book 3 in the Wild Quartet.

Lady Windermere, Cynthia, has lived the last year without her husband. Shortly after their marriage, Lord Windermere took a government assignment out of the country. Since then, she has been hanging out with her friends and basically living her life as she wants with no husband to answer to.

Damian, Lord Windermere, didn’t want to get married but found it was the only way that he could get the deed to his mother’s home from the owner. He lost the deed to his mother’s home during a card game with one of his best friends. Unfortunately, that friend lost it to someone else later that night. The owner would only give it back to Damian if he married the owner’s niece.

During their time apart, Cynthia has spent a lot of time with Damian's former best friend. Now that Damian is back, he forbids Cynthia from spending time with him.  Even though Damian believes she has been unfaithful to him, Cynthia just couldn't bring herself to have an affair.

Even though Damian never wanted this marriage he finds himself falling for his wife. Can he make this a real marriage after that way he had treated his wife?

I really enjoyed this story. Cynthia has been a secondary character in the previous stories and what little information we were given about her, had me on pins and needles waiting for her story. She has had an on-going flirtation with the Duke of Danford, who use to be one of her husband’s best friends. I also wanted to know why Damian married Cynthia and then soon abandoned her. Neville did not disappoint me!

We see Damian come back into his wife’s life and demanding that she end her affair with Danford. She is not willing to do so (even though it never got physical). Damian was not around for her and Danford was.  She is not willing to give up her friendship.  I really liked that she stood up for herself and didn't let Damian run all over her.  The story also included the dynamics of Damian's relationship with his former friends. Cynthia had become friends with them and had one type of relationship with them and then Damian had to re-establish his relationships. This added another level to the plot development.

Neville's next story in the series is the Duke of Danford's. I can't wait to read it!!
