An Oath Broken by Diana Cosby

An Oath Broken by Diana Cosby

This is book 2 in the Oath Trilogy.

Giric Armstrong, Earl of Terrick, just needs some money to get his keep up and running. He takes a job of escorting Lady Sarra Bellacote from England to her betrothed in Scotland. There personalities clash from the moment they met which makes for an interesting journey.

Sarra doesn't want to leave her keep get married to a man that she doesn't like, but her guardian has decreed it so she is complying. She starts butting heads with her escort and soon has to count on him to save her life when they are set upon reivers determined to get her.

To get away from the danger, Sarra and Giric must break from the group they are traveling with. Giric and Sarra soon find they have a mutual attraction, but since she is spoken for by another man they must not act on it.
But what happens when they are forced to get closer than they ever thought they would?

I've been waiting for Giric's story since I read An Oath Taken. After suffering for so long in the dungeon, I wanted him to get his HEA. Cosby did not disappoint. No way would he have been happy with a weak woman and Sarra definitely challenges him at every turn.

Forced into a situation in which it was just the two of them, they quickly came know the other intimately.  They are forced through circumstances to survive on their own, which meant that they had to learn to trust the other quickly.  Cosby did an awesome job showing how their feeling grew for each other through all of the obstacles put in their way.

My only complaint is that I felt the story ended too abruptly. I would have like another chapter or two. I can't wait to read Colyne's story which comes out in December.

  1. I can't believe that I haven't read this author yet. I plan to especially after reading your thoughts on it. I like that they build trust quickly, you don't always see that happen.
