Désirée and her family are eager to get back to their homeland of France, but first they must save enough money to pay off their uncle's debt. So when Jack offers Désirée a position in is household as a governess to his children, she jumps on the chance. She just hopes that she can control the attraction she has for the man.
Jack is in desperate need of help with his rambunctious children. He thinks that Désirée would be the perfect choice until he can get someone on a more permanent basis. He's always been attracted to Désirée, but has never acted on it because of his relationship with her brother. But when he learns that the attraction is mutual, he finds it hard to ignore.
Désirée is determined to return to France, so starting something with Jack can't lead to anything but a broken heart. But will the two decide it is worth it?
I loved Jack and Désirée's story! It was a quick and throughly enjoyable holiday read! I liked that both had felt an attraction for the other, but had never acted on it. But then when they were spending every day together, they just couldn't fit it any longer. I have throughly enjoyed Ridley's 12 Duke of Christmas series and can't wait for the next one to come out!!
