Earl of Oakhurst by Madeline Martin

Penelope doesn't want a husband. She is happy to work with patients at St. Thomas's hospital and doesn't think that a husband would allow her to do so. But she is let go from her volunteer position because she is unmarried and it us unseemly for her to work there. So as much as Penelope doesn't want a husband, it appears that she is now in need of one.

James is the new earl and knows that he needs to get married, but just like Penelope, he really doesn't want to. He meets Penelope at a ball and she offers to help treat his grandmother. They realize that that if they get married, they will both be helping the other. Penelope can continue to work at the hospital and James will get his grandmother to stop nagging him to get married.

They agree to get married, knowing that the agreement doesn't include love or children. But after they get married, their feelings start to change. Can this marriage of convenience, turn to one of true love?

I loved Penelope and James's story. I loved that Penelope wanted to work at the hospital which definitely wasn't the norm for someone of her position. I loved the bantering between the two as it had me laughing out loud! This was a great addition to the Wicked Earls series!
