When Lucy Greenleaf is let go by her employer for her radical beliefs, she has no one to turn to but her old friend Trevor Bailey. Not having seen each other since they were children, Lucy doesn't fit into Trevor's life anymore. She just needs his help to get back on her feet and then he never has to see her again.
Trevor has never stopped loving Lucy. The only reason he let her go as a child was so she could have a better life than the one she was living. Trevor has worked very hard to make himself into the man that we see today and will do anything for Lucy. Even if it means that everything that he has worked so hard for is put in jeopardy.
Can Trevor figure out how to keep Lucy in his life without giving up all he has worked so hard to obtain?
LOVED this story!! I fell in love with Trevor in The Miss Mirren Mission and couldn't wait to read his story (I had to start it the same night, LOL!). Holiday did not disappoint me.
I like this series from Jenny Holiday because she incorporates characters that are not part of the ton. The world in which they live and work is part of the upper 10,000, but most of the characters are of a lower class and therefore much more relatable to.
This particular story stars H/H that are not a part of the ton, but their place of work (the hotel that Trevor owns) most definitely is. As an added bonus to the love story we have a villain in the form of Lucy's former employer as well as a mystery to be solved.
After reading the first two books in this series, Jenny Holiday has become one of my favorite authors! I can't wait to read her next book in the series!
