Emily has known Hamish since she was a child and he came to live in her home to study under her father. It seems like they have spent their whole lives arguing with one another. One night, right before Hamish is to present his latest scientific findings, Emily tries to tell him that his calculations are wrong. In doing so, Hamish losing his temper and in the process Emily is compromised. As much as she thinks that marriage to Hamish will be a mistake, she reluctantly agrees. With their marriage starting off on rocky ground, they both try to make the most of it. But when events outside their marriage leave Emily heartbroken, she sends Hamish away.
Hamish knows that it is his fault that he and Emily had to get married. But what she doesn't know is that he has desired her for years. When she sends him away, he is heartbroken but does as she wishes. He secludes himself up in the highlands of Scotland and hopes that his wife might come seek him out.
Is there hope that the two of them can mend their marriage and make it a real one in truth?
I adored Hamish and Emily story!! My emotions were all over the place with this book! The bantering between these two had me laughing out loud and other events had me crying!! OMG, it was so good!! This was a great addition to the Lairds Most Likely series and one you MUST pick up!!
