Hellion at Heart by Tamara Gill

Hallie meets Arthur when she is on the way home from her father's funeral. He is stranded and in need of a ride to the next town. She gives it to him. When they arrive in town, there is no place for him to stay. He requests to stay with her and she agrees. They end up having an enjoyable evening ;) and Arthur disappears the next morning. While disappointed that he leaves with giving her his leave, she has plans to join an expedition to Egypt soon and busies herself for her journey.

Fast forward several years and Hallie is back in England. But she is not alone. She had a son out of wedlock and is doing her best to make a life for them. She finds herself working as an archaeologist on an estate. She needs this job to get the last of the money to buy a place of her own for her and her son. While at the estate, the owner has a house party. One of the guests is Arthur. But now, Hallie knows that his is also the Viscount of Duncannon and a known rogue. When he comes back into her life, she tries to keep her distance. She can't let anything jeopardize this job and her future. But someone is determined to expose the secret of her son.

Arthur has never forgotten the night that he spent with Hallie. Now that she is back in his life, he is not about to let go of her. He knows that he was a cad all those years ago and wants to make up for it, but Hallie doesn't make it easy for him. But as he gets closer to her, he learns her secret. Is is enough to keep them apart?

I really enjoyed Hallie and Arthur's story. Their one night together, really wasn't enough to base a lasting love but it was enough to get both parties interested in the other. I loved watching these two get to know one another several years after their initial meeting. Of course, the villain that was going to reveal Hallie's secret add extra drama to the story. I'm excited to see what Gill has in store for us in the next book in the series!
