The first time Clara and Stephen meet, they exchange words...and they were not the usual pleasantries one exchanges when meeting in the park. Since then, they have been enemies. Neither saying anything nice about the other. But one night in Covent Garden, Stephen steps up to help Clara in her time of need. They decide to come to a truce.
When Stephen's BIL let him lease one of his smaller properties, he never imagined that it would make him neighbors with Clara. And when he gets stranded by a storm, they get to know one another much better. Could their perspective of each other have been wrong? Can this attraction that they both feel lead to something bigger?
I really enjoyed Stephen and Clara's story. I will say that when I first met Clara (in A Midsummer Kiss) is was a first class snob and I didn't really like her. So when I knew that she would be paired with Stephen, I had to wonder how Gill was going to redeem her. I think Gill did a good job of explaining why Clara acted the way she did and how she changed over the course of this book.
I really like all the bantering between Clara and Stephen. I laughed out loud many times while reading this story. This is the last story in the series and it is definitely a series that I recommend!!
