Having grown up in a foundling home, Felicity Barrington, is suddenly whisked of to another world when she learns that a rich uncle, that knew nothing about her, has come to claim her. On the first night at her new home, she meets Max Redstone. But having been told by a gypsy friend that she will marry a duke, she ignores her attraction to him. Fortunately for her, Max isn't willing to do that. He believes that she is his destiny.
Six years pass and Felicity is about to get engaged to her duke, but Max is determined that she will be his. Can he get her to see what he does, that they are destined to be together?
I really enjoyed this story. It is different from Marvelle's other stories. I'd say that it is more "sweet" than is typical of her usually writing but definitely just as good.
The Chrsitmas Wager is part of a new series that Marvelle is starting. Each of the stories will be released around Christmas and continue for the next 10 years. In each of the stories, we will a lot more of the life of the hero/heroine than we would normally read in her other books. We will see the things that make them into the adult they are when they do find their HEA. I'm really looking forward to this series and I know you will too.
