The Duke Can Go to the Devil by Erin Knightly

After her mother's death, May Bradford was sent to live with her aunt in England. After living around the world for most of her life, May finds that life in England is suffocating.
While she has made some friends, she is just waiting for her father to whisk her back to the life that she loves. It doesn't help that the Duke of Radcliffe seems to turn up wherever she is and meddling in her affairs.

William Spencer, the Duke of Radcliffe, can't seem to get May off of his mind. Everything about her goes again what he believes in, but that doesn't matter when she is near.

Can this unlikely pair find an everlasting love?

I loved this story! I read the other two books in the series right before this one and was intrigued by May throughout those. Having not been raised in England with all the social structure of the time, she is not your typical society miss and I really enjoyed that.

I liked William too. Too often when there is a Duke as the hero of a story, he is acts as if the attention he receives is his due. William was just the opposite. He didn't like the attention that went along with being a duke. He just wanted to be left alone without all the hoopla that went along with his position.

I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next book in the series to come out in early 2016.

  2. I love Erin Knightley! I've only read one of hers and it wasn't in this series. It always makes for a good historical if one or both of them are not up to societal norms!
