Marianne is determined that the father of her sister's baby will provide for her. Having been told that the wicked Viscount Worsley is the father of the baby, Marianne makes her way to London and lands at his doorstep. Even though he claims not to be the father, he does decide to provide for the child. He even asks Marianne to stay and be the child's governess. While living under the man's roof, Marianne finds herself wildly intrigued by the man. She knows he is a rake, but she can't seem to stop the attraction.
Michael knows that the baby can't be his as he has not been with a woman since months before this baby would have been conceived. But he knows the baby is family and knows that he must provide for her. He sees how attached Marianne is to the child and asks her to stay. He knows it is not a good idea as his attraction for her grows by the minute.
There mutual attraction continues to grow as they come to know one another. But Micheal isn't ready to get married and Marianne isn't about to become his mistress. Will this couple be able to figure it out before they lose one another?
I loved Michael and Marianne's story! I loved watching them get to know one another. Even though it is a fairly short story, I didn't feel like their story was rushed at all. It was also nice to see some other of my favorites from this series! I'm excited for Reid's next book to come out as they are always masterful!!
