Venetia is trying to avoid an unwanted marriage when she and her grandmother go to a house party. Venetia knows that she needs to marry, but she would rather it be someone of her own choosing. She and her grandmother are hopeful that she will meet someone at the party. But soon after arriving, Venetia is injured and must stay in bed to recover. Her grandmother asks a handsome footman to help keep her entertained.
Adrian knows that his position as a footman would keep him from being anything other than a friend to Venetia, but the more time that they spend together he can't help but feel more for her. While Adrian is the son of a duke, he was born on the wrong side of the blanket and would never be a suitable wife for Venetia.
Can love conquer this class difference?
I really enjoyed Venetia and Adrian's story. It was fun watching this unlikely pair find their HEA. If you are looking for a quick enjoyable read then this is the book for you! It was a great addition to the House of Devon series!
