Ian has watched his brother disappear before his eyes and now it is his turn to travel back in time to find and bring back his mother. When he arrives, he lands just outside his mother's former home and is greeted by one of his brothers. He soon learns that his brothers are all accounted for and their mother has already been sent back home. But they still have a job to do before they go back to their own time.
Màiri has taken herself to the loch when she sees a strange man approaching her. He ends up kissing her and then confessing all to her father. This of course ends with them married. Having planned to marry her childhood friend, Màiri is not happy about this. They agree to not make it a "real" marriage knowing that Ian will go back to him own time. But as they spend time together that decision is harder and harder to keep.
Will Ian be able to convince Màiri to give up her life in the past for one in the future with him?
I really enjoyed Ian and Màiri's story. I love that Ian made Màiri believe that she was beautiful. She had been hiding behind her birthmark her whole life and he made her realize that she did't need to. I loved watching these two get to know one another and fine their other half. This was a great ending to a wonderful series!!
