Roysa has just learned that her husband of one year has died. She soon hears that her BIL had a hand in her death. Roysa is fearful for her life. Instead of traveling to the property she is promised in her late husband's will, she goes to her sister who is wintering at Dromsley Castle. Upon her arrival, she encounters the owner of the property. They take an instant dislike for one another.
Terric doesn't need a pampered lady living in his home, but since she is the sister of his best friend's wife, he has no choice but allow her to stay. Even though he finds himself attracted to Roysa, he needs to keep his mind on the rebellion that the Order of the Broken Blade has started. He doesn't have room in his life to start a romance. But as they spent more time together, he finds it harder and harder to stay away from Roysa.

I loved this latest addition to the Order of the Broken Blade series! Both Roysa and Terric have reasons for staying away from the other, but can't seem to fight their attraction for one another. I loved watching them fall in love!! I can't wait for the final book in the series!! Although I'll be sad that the series is over...
