Hannah's father has finally followed through with what he has been threatening to do...arrange a marriage for her. Knowing that her father has been courting a disgusting older man for her to marry, Hannah wants to take things into her own hands. Knowing that she won't be wanted if she gives away her innocence, she takes it upon herself to get rid of it. She ends up at the Donville Masquerade where she meets a man that she is instantly attracted to. They don't exchange names as they are masked and will never see one another again. The next day, her father informs her that her betrothed is coming over to meet her. But when he arrives, she realizes that it is the man from the previous night.
Duncan is at the Donville Masquerade to forget about what he must do the next day. His brother has demanded that he settle down, or he won't be given his inheritance. Duncan's solution is to get married. When he arrives to meet his betrothed, he can't believe that it is the woman from the night before. After "meeting", they decide to go ahead and get married as it solves the issue of Duncan's inheritance and Hannah will get her freedom.
But the two are still wildly attracted to one another and both start to have feeling that both of them agreed would never occur. Will they take the chance to reveal their feelings to the other even when it means that they might be rejected?
I absolutely adored Hannah and Duncan's story!! There attraction to one another was read hot from the beginning and it just got hotter as they got to know one another. I loved watching them go from marrying to get something ($$ and freedom) to falling in love with each other. I do believe that this is the last in the series and I have throughly enjoyed every story that Michaels has given us!!
