Sophie is making her way to Scotland to visit a school friend, when the wheel on her carriage breaks. She is stranded in the small village of Moy when she meets the Laird Mackintosh who invites her to stay at his home with him and his sister. As she gets to know Brice, she quickly falls for him. But he seems to be holding back, and Sophie doesn't know why...
Brice has long been expected to wed a family friend after there help to save his home. But when he meets Sophie, he wonders if he can go through with the arranged marriage. His brain is telling him to go through with what everyone expects him to do, but his heart is telling him to make a life with Sophie.
Will Brice choose his family obligations or will he follow his heart?
I really enjoyed Gill's third installment in the Kiss the Wallflower series. Sophie has not grown up with wealth and when she is living Brice and his sister, she is a little overwhelmed. But Bryce does what he can to make her feel welcomed and not feel inferior, which others in house are trying to do. Brice had to struggle with what he thought he should do and what his heart was telling him to do, which caused much anguish between the two. I can't wait for the 4th book in the series!!
