Shaw Sinclair is willing to do anything to get back his clan's ancestral home. So when he is tasked with escorting a baby to safety in exchange for his home being given back to him, he will do what has to be done to achieve his end goal. He doesn't know how to take care of a baby, so when Alana steps up and tries to help him during the festival, he decides that she needs to go with them for the rest of the journey. If she doesn't, the baby might not make it there alive.
Alana can't believe that she has been kidnapped by the chief the Sinclairs. His clan has a horrible reputation and they are feuding with her own clan. She fights Shaw at the start of the journey, but soon realizes that she will do anything for the baby in her care, even if it means that she must act like she is married to Shaw.
Sparks fly whenever Shaw and Alana are near one another. Can their masquerading as spouses turn into a truth that will give them their HEA?
I loved Alana and Shaw's story!! Shaw was desperate to get him home back, so when he saw the opportunity to help that come about, he jumped on it. I don't think that he thought about what all that could happen. I loved watching Alana fall in love with the little one they were transporting. It's not often that you have a child be a central part of the story and it was a nice touch. I was laughing out loud at the bantering between Shaw and Alana, but under all the back and forth, you could see that they were falling for each other. This was a great addition to the Campbells series!
