Catriona's Secret by Madeline Martin

Geordie has waited 4 long years to finally see Cat again. He has returned a knight and is almost ready to propose to her. But every time they get close to one another, Cat pulls away. Geordie can tell that she is hiding something from him, but can't imagine what it is. When he is asked to take Cat to court so that she might meet a potential spouse, he is heartbroken.

While Gordie was away, Cat had enjoyed time away at court. That is until, she is assaulted and her virtue taken. She learns that she is pregnant right before Geordie returns home. She can't tell him the truth, because she knows that he will kill the man that did this to her. It is better to let him think that her feeling for him have changed.

But as they make their way to court and come to know each other again after their separation, Cat wonders if she can keep her distance from him. He was her best friend growing up and knows that she now loves the man that he has become. What will happen if he learns the truth, which is bound to happen if they give into their growing feelings?

I really enjoyed Cat and Geordie's story. We've heard about their friendship throughout the series, so I was excited to read their story. I loved watching them get to know each other again. Both had grown up so much in the time that they were apart. I'm so excited to read the next book in the series!!
