An Improper Proposal by Heather Boyd

With her father in debtors prison, Iris Hedley is forced to what is necessary to survive.  She has been spying on the ton for an unscrupulous robber, but knows that she can't do that any longer. She decides that only way to survive is to become a rich man's mistress. She asks the one man she trusts to teach her everything she needs to know for this new role.

Martin Andrews, the Earl of Louth, can't believe that Iris is asking for his help in learning how to become a mistress. He sets out to convince her that this road is not the one she should take. He didn't count on falling for her himself.

As Iris and Martin get closer to each other, Iris is worried that Martin will learn the truth about what she has done to survive and the location of her father. Will Martin's feelings change when the truth is revealed?

I really enjoyed this story. Iris was not your typical society miss. She didn't want to live off of the woman she was staying with. She felt like she needed to provide for herself. She got into some trouble trying to keep her father safe, but didn't know how to get herself out of the situation which leads to all kinds of drama.

I liked Martin. He had known Iris since she was a kid and felt like he needed to protect her. Lucky for us, his need to protect her turned into something more!

I can't wait to see what Boyd has in store for us next!
