Lady Rose Dunford, a widow who has recently lost her husband, is shocked by the number of women that are seen coming and going from her new neighbor's brownstone. But having heard their activities next door, she finds herself intrigued by the going ons and wants to meet the bachelor that moved in. When she finally does, she is shocked to learn that she already knows the man. He once worked for her father and was the person that helped her leave England when her father was forcing her into an arranged marriage.
Charlie Avery has finally made something of himself. Once the head groom at Rose's family home, he fell in love with the young lady of the house. He left England to get away from her, knowing that he would never be good enough for her. He never imagined that she would end up in America with him.
Now that Charlie has made something of himself, can he win the hand of the only woman he has ever loved?
I really liked this story and fell in love a little with Charlie myself! I loved that he was there for Rose no matter what happened. Even though he knew that he would never have her, he didn't let that stop him from protecting her and doing what was best for her, even when it wasn't what he wanted. Sigh...
I'm looking forward to reading the next book in Goodger's Lost Heiresses series!

This is book 0.5 in the Matchmaking for Wallflowers series.
Rosamund Amberley has been very successful in her matchmaking attempts and her latest is to match her sister, Fiona, with Marcus Worthing, the Earl of Somerville. But what she soon learns is that she can't stop thinking about Marcus...
What is a girl to do when the man she thought was perfect for her sister, turns out to be her perfect match?
This was a cute, short read. I liked both Rosamund and Marcus and thought they were well matched.
Having already read Fiona's story, How to Capture a Duke, it surprised me that it took me halfway through the book to figure out the connection... I thought this Fiona acted a lot different than in her own book.
I'm looking forward to book 2 in the series, A Marquess for Convience, which comes out in May.
Years ago, John Merrick, the Earl of Corabeau, wanted to court Lady Grace Landon. She turned him down knowing that it would soon be revealed that her father had financially ruined her family and she didn't want her scandal to effect him. But that all changes when they are caught together in a storeroom during a house party. John immediately tells the others that they are engaged.
Unfortunately, Grace's situation isn't any better than it was all those years ago and she is determined to get John to break the betrothal. But John is not about to walk away from Grace a second time when he never stopped loving her.
Can John convince Grace that there love for each other is more important than what society is saying about them?
I really liked this story! Grace held out against John much longer than I would have been able to, LOL! Even though he was a little different (he didn't like to be in big crowds), I loved that when he was with just Grace he was able to open himself up and be the man that he wanted to be with her.
I honestly felt bad for Grace. After what her father died, she really didn't want what happened to her to happen to anyone else. Therefor she turned down John when he asked to court her. Because she didn't discuss all of this with John, she lost so much time with him. When she tries to get out of the betrothal with John, it felt to me like she didn't feel like she deserve to be happy. John sure had a lot of work to do to win her over!!
I really enjoyed Grace's sisters and can't wait to read their stories!
Miss Eleanor Lockhart has suddenly lost her home. Her only recourse is to get a job. Knowing that in London, she might run into people from past, she wants to be honest and upfront with her employer about the scandal that had her leasing London a decade ago. Thankful that she finds employment, she never imagined that her employer would offer to find her a season so that she might finally find a husband.
Titus St. John, Duke of Kendal, is not often seen out in society. Know as the Forbidden Duke, he only ventures out into society for his step-mother's yearly ball. When she asks for help in launching Eleanor, Titus can't say no. He has carried the guilt of Eleanor's ruination for a decade. Although he wasn't the cad that ruin her, he did play a big part in it.
Eleanor and Titus soon find they can't fight their mutual attraction. Will this unlikely duo find their happily ever after with each other?
I LOVED this story!! Eleanor was a very strong woman. She had to be to go back into society after being ruined all those years ago. I loved that she was offered a second chance at finding love. Fate had getting a job with the right person.
Of course, like other men, Titus was not ready to settle down yet. But there was no denying the attraction that he felt toward Eleanor and when push came to shove, he wasn't about to let anyone else have her!!
I'm excited to read the next book in Burke's Untouchable series, The Duke of Daring, which comes out in August!!

This is book 2 in the Magnificent Malverns series.
Sir Robert (Rob) Garrick has returned home after fighting in the Crimean War and has settled into a quiet life in the country. Determined to get back the home that his family lost during a crooked card game, Rob plans to make sure that the current owner's grandson never inherits it. Unfortunately, that heir just happens to be the son of his former lover.
Lady Georgiana (Georgie) Cressington is biding the time until her father passes away. He has forced her to be with him or her son takes the chance of loosing his inheritance. Going back to her childhood home does bring some perks in the form of her childhood friends, but it also brings heartache when she met face the man she never stopped loving.
What happens when these former lovers come face to face again?
LOVED this story!! I love reunion stories and this was no exception! For a lot of the story, we see Rob and Georgie trying to deny to themselves that their feelings for one another have never left. But once they give in to their feelings once again, oh boy!!
I loved seeing Rob's grandmother (Mum) again, she is just so full of mischief. I'm hoping that we get stories for all the Malvern cousins!!

This is book 5 in the de Montfort Brothers series.
Irish Captain Ruaidri O'Devir is on a mission to get a new explosive and deliver it to John Adams to help in the war effort against England. Planning to abduct the inventor of the explosive, Ruaidri finds the inventor's sister almost thrown in his path and decides to take her instead. What better way to get the man to deliver the goods to him than to have him exchanged the merchandise for his beloved sister? He didn't count on falling in love with her...
Lady Nerissa de Montforte has lived a sheltered life under the careful watch of her protective older brothers. After the initial shock of being held captive, she finds that her journey is more of an adventure than anything else. Knowing that her brothers will eventually come after her, she decides to enjoy her time away from the ballrooms of London. Having been nursing a broken heart, she never imagined that another would make her heart beat faster. Knowing that Ruaidri is all wrong her her doesn't stop her from falling in love with him.
Can the Irish captain and the English lady overcome the many obstacles in front of them to find an everlasting love?
I absolutely loved this story!!! While this is the 5th book in the Montfort Brothers series, you will see many characters from Harmon's Heroes of the Sea series too. I have read all of the books in both series, but it was so long ago that I don't remember any of them... but having said that, after reading this one, I want to go back and read all the books in both series (now to find the time to do it)!
Ruaidri...where to start with him? Talk about a hero you want to take home with you, that would be Ruaidri! You have a man that survived being pressed in the English Navy, escaped and was able to make a name for himself. He was thought so highly by John Adams that he sent him on this important mission! He is almost too good to be true!
I really like Nerissa too. After grouping up with so many older brothers, she knows how to handle being around a ship load of men. Other women of her station would have been freaking out if they were put into a situation like this. She ended up making the best of the situation and finding a love that she had given up on.
Even though it took many years to get Nerissa's story, it was well worth the wait. I'm hoping that Harmon has another series in the works that is just as good as her other two!! Regardless of what she does, I'm excited to see what she comes up with next!
Greggory Redcake would love for his home life to be as well organized as his workplace. Everything at work runs smoothly because of his assistant manager, Betsy Popham. But that doesn't last long when someone is murdered at the tea shop.
Betsy thinks that the murder has to do with something from her past and when it appears that she is in danger, Greggory offers his home for Betsy and her father to move in to.
Now that Betsy and Greggory not only work together but live together, the feelings that both of the have kept hidden are suddenly to strong to ignore. Can they find the murderer as well of figure out where their feelings might take them?
I've enjoyed reading about the Redcakes and this story is no exception. I was hoping that Betsy would get her HEA when I met her earlier in the series, so I was excited to see this was her story.
I loved that Hiestand added a "who done it" aspect with this story. That element brought more drama to the story as well as propelling the love story forward.
I'm not certain if Hiestand is continuing with the Redcakes, but I sure hope she does!! I'm looking forward to reading whatever she comes up with next!
This is book 1 in the Highlander Voves: Entangled Hearts series.
Marion de Lacy's father is marrying her off to an evil baron to gain access to soldiers. She isn't about to do what her father demands, so she has made plans to run off to Scotland and seek help from her mother's clan. She didn't count on the King stepping in and changing her plans.
Iain MacLeod has been ordered by the king to marry Marion. The king has uncovered a plot to overturn his rule and if Marion marries Iain he has a better chance of stopping the rebellion. Having loved and lost his first wife, Iain tells Marion that he will never love her. Knowing her only other option is to marry a man she despises, Marion agrees to marry Iain.
Can this marriage of convience bloom into one of love?
I really enjoyed this story. I always love when the heroine is strong willed and a little out of the ordinary. Marion is definitely strong willed and has learned to protect herself with the help of a friend. This is definitely not your typical society miss.
I liked Iain too. He was a hardened warrior, but he also had his soft side which came out when he was dealing with Marion.
This is my first novel by Johnstone, although I've been wanting to read her stuff for awhile now. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
Edwin Barlow, the Earl of Blakebourough, agrees to watch of his best friend's cousin while he is away dealing with family business. He knows that he is in for trouble watching over Lady Clarissa Lindsey having known her most of his life. That is part of the problem...he's been captivated with her just as long. But he also knows that Clarissa isn't the type of woman that he wants for a wife...or is she?
Clarissa is determined never to wed after an event in her past. But when she ends up with a stalker, she knows her best chance at protecting herself to to take Edwin up on his marriage proposal.
Can this marriage of convience turn into one of love?
I LOVED this story!! I couldn't put it down and was up half the night reading it!
If you've read the other books in the series, you've met Edwin and Clarissa before. Edwin had always been the quiet one that only spoke up when necessary and ALWAYS told you like it was! You knew that he had to have hidden depths to him that only the right woman would bring out in him!! Oh boy, what a hero he turned out to be. I wanted him to magically appear so that he could be my IRL hero!!
I really liked Clarissa too. She was always needling Edwin to get a rise of of him, unfortunately Edwin didn't often see that she was teasing him. I just really loved the interaction between Clarissa and Edwin.
The next book in the series, The Danger of Desire, is Warren's book and comes out in November. I can't wait to read it!!!
When royal princess, Tatiana Romanovin's carriage is held up by ruffians, she becomes disorientated and is separated from her group. When she finally finds help, she has no way of identifying herself and must find a way to support herself until she con contact her cousin. A sympathetic innkeeper and his wife take her in and she works off her room and board.
Lord Buchan was left a broken man after the war and he only ventures out once a week to have a meal at the local inn. When he meets Tatiana he is instantly intrigued and knows there is something more to her than meets the eye. He soon finds that he can't stop thinking about the comely maid.
What happens when Buchan learns that the woman he is smitten with, truly is a princess?
I enjoyed this story, but not as much as the rest of the series. My guess is because of it's length. It just didn't draw me into it like, Hawkin's stories normally do. Usually when I read her stories, I don't want to put the book down until I'm done. This one just didn't hold my attention like the others.
If you are looking for a quick, enjoyable read, then this is the book for you.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series, Mad for the Plaid, which stars Nik!!
When Charlotte Hill sees Hugh MacIain for the first time, he is brought to the infirmary almost dead. Having spent nearly two years in Fort William's prison, he has not gotten the proper care for himself. Knowing that the fort's doctor won't do anything to help Hugh, Charlotte sneaks in after he leaves to nurse the highlander. She never expected to feel such an attraction for a stranger.
Hugh is instantly attracted to the woman tending him, but when he learns that she is the commanding officer's daughter, he knows that nothing can come of it. After he escapes, he can't stop thinking about Charlotte and decides that she worth fighting for.
Can this Highlander win over the Englishwoman's heart?
I enjoyed this story! Who don't love a brawny highlander trying to win a ladies heart? Not I, that is for sure!
I really liked Charlotte and Hugh. They knew that they would encounter problems if they chose to be together, but decided that their love was worth the price that they would have to pay. With Hugh being a Jacobite and Charlotte being the daughter of a high ranking English officer, there were plenty of obstacles in their way to that HEA.
I'm looking forward to Jarecki's next book in the series, The Valiant Highlander.
Lord Darius Alexander can't pass up a wager even when he has no money of his own. Talked into playing one last hand of card, he bets the bank note that his brother has give him. Unfortunately he lost...
Caitlin Hart is relieved to have won that last hand at the table. She now has the money to hire help at her farm to bring in the harvest. She didn't count on the man that lost the money to try and get it back from her. The come up with a compromise. He will work off the debt on her farm. When that debt is paid, she will give the bank note back to him.
Caitlin didn't count on falling for Darius. Can her feelings ever mount to anything when she is just a country farm girl and the object of her desire is a lord?
I enjoyed this story. It is not your run of the mill storyline (which I seem to be saying a lot lately, but that is a good thing!) for historical romance. I do like it when there is a class difference that must be overcome in the story as it as another dimension to the tale.
Darius was the typical aristocrat at the beginning of the story (all high and mighty). He seriously thought that Caitlin would give him his money back when he explained the situation to her. But as the story progresses we see that he is growing into a man that could be admired and worth the love of a woman.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the Naughty Girls series!
This is book 3 in the Heirs' Club of Scoundrels trilogy.
Adam Greyhawke has spend the last two years in seclusion after the death of his wife and child. But when he inherits the earldom and a ward, he realizes that he must rejoin society to take up the reins of his new position. Even though everyone suspects that he is back in London to secure a new wife, that is the furthest thing on his mind. He never wants to go through that heartache again.
Miss Katharine Wright is use to man only wanting her for her dowry and the connect to her uncle, the duke. But when she meets Adam, the attraction between them is mutual and somewhat overpowering.
Running into each other all over town, has them wondering if fate has taken over. Can Katherine convience Adam that love is worth taking a second chance at marriage?
LOVED this story!! We've seen glimpses of the hardened Adam while reading the other two books in the series, so it was nice to see a softer side of him with his story.
The attraction between Adam and Katherine was instantaneous. As a reader, you could almost feel it leaping from the page. But what I really liked about this story is that I felt like Adam and Katharine became friends before they became lovers. The passion they felt for each other, I think was made that much stronger because of the friendship and mutual understanding they felt for one another.
I really enjoyed this series and am sad to see it end. I'm looking forward to Grey's new trilogy titled, The Rakes of St. James. I'm sure I love it as much as I did the Heirs' Club!
Tommy Halifax fled England 7 years ago when Eliza Trueheart broke his heart. Returning now only to visit is family and to be knighted for his service to the crown, he knows it is inevitable that he will run into her.
Eliza feels horrible for what she did to Tommy all those years ago and has been living a life with virtually no fun at all to atone for what she did.
When they have an intimate encounter that changes everything, how will the two of them get past their past?
I really enjoyed this story. Having met Eliza in The Beautiful One, I knew that her history would effect how she found love. As a teen, she was a spoiled rotten girl, which is what lead to her breaking Tommy's heart all those years ago.
With this story, we have seen that Eliza has grown up and is actually a widow having been married an older gentleman. She has turned her life around and is not longer the girl that is only out for a good time.
It takes Tommy some time to realize that Eliza has changed. He she sides of her that he had not seen before, but it is hard for him to believe after hating her for so long.
There were several secondary characters that I hope get their own story. I'm looking forward to seeing what Greenwood has in store for us next!

When the Duke of Lennox asks Sir Brook Derring to find his missing daughter, Brook plans to find the girl and then have nothing more to do with her. The girl broke his heart when they were younger and he wants nothing to do with her. It is unfortunate that when he sees her again, he realizes that his attraction for her is just as strong as ever.
Lady Lillian-Anne Lennox has always tried to live up to her father's expectations. She knows that she use to be a brat and that she has no friends, but after the death of her mother, that all changed. Too bad that Brook can't seem to get over the hurt she inflected on him.
When they end up having to marry, Brook only agrees knowing that the king will see to an annulment. But what happens to Brook's attitude after spending a week in Lillian-Anne's company?
I've been waiting for Brook's story since I started this series. I've always found him to be an intriguing man. I will say that I didn't like Lillian-Anne very much. She was a still a spoiled brat even though she said that she had changed. It wasn't until almost the end of the book that I thought that she was worthy of getting Brook as her better half.
Even with that said, I did enjoy the story. With the added mystery of why Lillian-Anne was kidnapped, we have a very well rounded story.
I think this is the end of the Covent Garden Cubs series and I'm excited to see what Galen comes up with next!

Lady Roselyn Grey has a plan for how the rest of her life will play out and it certainly doesn't included her fiancee getting killed before they can even announce the betrothal! Believing the her fiancee's brother murdered him, she heads to London to try and forget what has happened. Unfortunately at every turn, she runs into the rotten murderer.
Ethan Moore is determined to find out who killed his brother, because he is certain it wasn't an accident which is what the ton believes. He soon realizes that Roselyn is in danger because of what she might have seen that day.
Can Ethan find the murderer and keep Roselyn safe in the process?
I really liked this story, but I have to say that Roselyn wasn't very likable at the beginning. It took until about halfway through the story for me to start liking her.
I did really LOVE Ethan and the members of the Spare Heirs club! We got to meet all the future heroes of the upcoming books in the series and hints as to who their better half will end up being :).
I always love a book mystery woven into my romances and I loved what Michels did with this one. It was an unlikely person, although I will say that it didn't take me long to figure out who it had to be.
I am really looking forward to reading more in this series, unfortunately I couldn't find when the next book would be out. I guess only time will tell us!
This is book 3 in the Breconridge Brothers series.
Taking on a bet from his rakehell friend, Lord Rivers Fitzroy is determined to make a star of Lucia di Rossi. Scorned by her family for not being a graceful dancer, al Lucia has ever wanted was to be a star actress.
Determined to make the most of this wager, Lucia makes sure that Rivers understands that she won't be his mistress. She is only interested in making the most of her craft.
But when Rivers and Lucia end up spending weeks together in a secluded home, they can't seen to fight the attraction that sizzles between them. Can Rivers make a star of Lucia before she succumbs to his charms?
I loved this book!! I loved Rivers and loved watching him fall for Lucia. He was no where ready to get married, but at their first meeting he knew there was something special about her.
I also loved watching them work together to perfect Lucia's craft. She truly had no idea how good she really was. But as she grew more confident in her craft, she grew more confident in herself.
I will say that I didn't really like part of the ending that has to do with the Duke...I didn't really care for the man!!
I really liked the Breconridge brothers and am sad that the series is over. I am however excited to see what Bradford has in store for us next!!
